Many Exciting Events Coming Up (August 23 2006)

On Sunday September 23, with help from Peta from Cultivating Community, members of Buncle St community garden in North Melbourne will visit Codemo and friends at the house of Nelson Campus (14 Whiteside St Springvale 3171 from 12 noon). There will be plant and seed swapping and the chance to see how Nelson's chook tractior and compost pile are working out for him. Meanwhile, CODEMO is now meeting every Friday evening at 26-50 Queens av. Springvale and is running computer classes every Thursday at 6pm. at springvale community center, 1 Osborne Av, springvale. Many Exciting Events Coming Up (June 21 2006)

Well it's an exciting time for CODEMO with lots coming up that you are welcome to be a part of:

NEXT PERMACULTURE DAY: This Sunday June 25 we are visiting Buncle St Community Garden to learn and share with a group of Spanish-speaking gardeners there. Come along from 12 noon or catch a ride with us in a minibus that will leave Springvale Community Centre at 11am. Buncle St Community Garden is located on the corner of Mark Street and Buncle St North Melbourne, outside the Moonee Valley Health Centre and near the Boundary Road overpass.�� Melways ref 2AE4.

BREAD MAKING AND TAI CHI WITH CHAI TEA: Tuesday June 27 we will meet at 5pm sharp in the Springvale Community Centre (in the kitchen next to the sports hall) at 5 Osbourne Road Springvale. There Dan Palmer will show us how to bake our own bread. The while we wait for the bread to rise, we will have a Tai Chi class from 5:30 to 6:30pm. After that we'll bake the bread and have our usual evening of eating, laughing, and dancing together!

PERMABLITZ AT WILLIE"S HOUSE: Sunday July 2 we meet at the house of Willie (call him on 95446362 for details) to Permablitz his garden. Willie tells us he's been implementing everything he's been learning at the other permaculture days so we can't wait to see how his garden is looking.

Codemo Dinner Dance (June 17 2006)

Codemo Attends PERMABLITZ #3 at Grandma Monica's House in Moonee Ponds! (21/5/06)

With another great turnout we all had a lovely day learning together at Monica's house. Along with putting in a new keyhole path garden bed, planting broad beans, and a house tour with magnificent Monica, we learned about growing your own sprouts, cheese making, peanut butter making, wheatgrass juicing, and fruit and vegetable juicing. There was lots of deliciious food to share and a number of new faces came from the local area - we hope they will continue to meet and organise similar days in future!See photos here . Codemo Attends the Thomas Street Open Day in Full Force! (7/5/06)

With around 150-200 people attending the Thomas Street Open Day, Codemo was ready and waiting with empanadas, pupusas, tacos, chilean hotdogs, and a raffle for wine and a potplant. Codemo raised almost $300 towards the cause of saving the Thomas Street garden and a great day was had by all with garden tours, talks, poetry, and of course great South American food!See photos here .

Codemo's Second Permaculture Day even Huger Success! (23/4/06)

With around 30 folks coming along at Nelson's casa in Springvale for a truly wonderful afternoon of seed-planting, cutting progating, chook-tractoring, hot composting, fine dining, and permasalsaing. We had people from El Salvador, Chile, Argentina, Cuba, Peru, Romania, Ireland, Singapore and even Australia! Great communal atmosphere, much new learning, plenty of seeds and plants off to new homes, and many connections made, plans hatched and phone numbers swapped. Bravo!See photos here . Codemo's First SBS Interview! (21/4/06)

Codemo had the first interview on SBS radio about permaculture, SBS radio has listeners in many states around australia and many people called to know about this great project.
