100th permablitz message from Darren Doherty and Lisa Heenan

In the permaculture and regenerative agriculture movements there are few we respect more than Darren Doherty.  Bendigo born and now a world renowned designer he attempts to spread both knowledge of Keyline agriculture design systems and the love of Australian Rules football to more ignorant places.  We’re humbled that as he and his partner Lisa travel, they often tell people about permablitz. Lisa it seems even does it in rhyme…

Permaculture is an open-source movement which prides itself on working with those who are ready to be involved, speaking to those who are ready to listen. The effectiveness of this bottom-up strategy is that once you get the Permaculture bug then its not usual that you shake it off. The Permablitz initiative has been an enormously engaging and effective process of developing the capacity for people to be introduced to Permaculture, and do so incrementally such that they are not intimidated by the seeming enormity of the Permaculture spectra, indeed they are starting with ‘one backyard at a time’.

Humans have for a long time been involved in community-based building projects together with working bees and ‘pot lucks’, the former having an enduring outcome whereas the latter two are more around cleaning up and socialising. The Permablitz concept successfully entwines all of this together and rightfully requires attendance in order to qualify for your own Permablitz to occur. What we love most about Permablitz is apart from the activity is how easy a sell it is. We mention it to people all over the world and they just love the idea and immediately the eyes light up and they are alive again with the spirit of regeneration. So bravo Permablitz for having Permblitz #100 this weekend, you should be very proud of the virus you’ve created and the integrity with which you’ve promoted Permaculture in doing so.

Stop being an unconscious consumer, buy food that won’t give you a tumor, start a relationship with your local farmer, eatin’ fresh food that you know won’t harm ya.
You wanna eat meat from a factory, man that’s something y’all don’t wanna see, treating animals so disrespectfully, karmic pay back is a reality.
Permaculturetation, permablitzing around the nation, our earth is needing some regeneration, get moving on a consultation,gotta fix up our insulation,
Climate Change that is, yeah Global Warming, Holes in the Ozone layer, Seas heating up, Ice melting, Sea levels rising, Island cultures dying, you with me, get real, check it out, Regenerate the landscape, rejuvenate the soils and rejoice in abundance for all !!!
