West Brunswick Food Forest Permabee – Booked Out
Date(s) - July 16, 2017
Time - 9:30 am - 4:30 pm
This event is totally booked out - but keep an eye out for more blitzes being announced soon!
Location - West Brunswick Community Garden
Join the Food Forest fun in Dunstan Reserve, Brunswick West along with dozens of other like minded community-minded food growing folks, enjoy the rewarding feeling of a good day outside, a hearty lunch and doing something good with others and learn all sorts of useful stuff.
Established in the early 1990’s by local residents and now managed by volunteers from Moreland Community Gardening the Dunstan Reserve Food Forest is thriving now thanks to the dedication of this volunteer group and to the Permablitz family who’ve helped to transform it and care for it.
The Food Forest has hosted three fantastic, over-subscribed Permablitzes over the years. Along the way we’ve taken care of the plants and the space, helping the very grateful caretakers to get months of maintenance in a single day and learned plenty from some very knowledgable, generous people.
Last November we had a massive day and it made all the difference for the rest of the year. On 16th July we’ll be back in the Food Forest and we need your help!
Help continue the transformation and maintenance of this valuable public open space. If you’ve helped in the past come back and see the fruits of your labour.
Lunch will be supplied.
Bring: Secateurs, gloves and wear clothes for all weathers (as if you need to be told!)
Likely learning sessions:
- Composting
- Fruit tree care and pruning
- Planting
- Public Food Forest in practice
Likely tasks for the day:
- Soil care
- Fruit tree pruning and tree care
- Mulching and weeding

- Maybe a bit of irrigation repair and installation, vine training
This is going to be pretty awesome, so make sure you get your name in!
Oh noes! This event is completely booked out – if more people are needed, we’ll make an announcement via the Facebook Event.
