Permablitz #206 – Crib Point – Booked Out!
Date(s) - July 1, 2018
Time - 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
This event is totally booked out - but keep an eye out for more blitzes being announced soon!
Previous permablitz designer Nikki has a young family on the Mornington Peninsula and wants to create a permaculture garden to feed their bodies and souls, as well as provide a working example for other families thinking of beginning their own sustainable journeys. And thanks to the assistance of her fellow designers Harry and Nat, we’re going to do just that!
So what’s the game plan? Well – quite a bit actually!
We’re going to:
- Build a brick & timber keyhole bed
- Prepare soil for food forest
- Fox proof chicken coop
- Create new garden beds
- Plant herb garden
- Set up planter boxes and vine wiring
- Build brick and deep mulch paths
- Verge planting
The workshops will include:
- How to attract wildlife to your garden
- Looking after chickens
- Keyhole beds and soil building
If you can, please bring:
- Broad forks
- Spades/shovels
- Forks
- Rakes
This will be a kid-friendly blitz – there’s even a cubby house and trampoline as well as Nikki’s own kids to hang out with! Of course, normal parental-rules apply – keep an eye on them!
It looks like this is going to be a pretty awesome day – please note that Crib Point is a good hour’s drive from Melbourne, and unless you stay close-by overnight, then public transport may not be a great option. If you wish to car-pool, please use the Facebook Event to tee up a lift or offer a ride. (Bonus karma points to people who offer lifts!)
This event is now totally booked out! A big thanks to everyone who put their names down for this one – Nikki will get back to you all soon.
