Join the Food Forest fun in Dunstan Reserve, Brunswick West along with other like minded community-minded food growing folks, enjoy the rewarding feeling of a good day outside, learning some pretty cool stuff and doing something good with others.
Established in the early 1990’s by local residents and now managed by volunteers from Moreland Community Gardening the Dunstan Reserve Food Forest is thriving now thanks to the dedication of this volunteer group and to the Permablitz family who’ve helped to transform it and care for it.
The Food Forest has hosted four fantastic, over-subscribed Permablitzes and Permabees over the years. Along the way we’ve taken care of the plants and the space, helping the very grateful caretakers to get months of maintenance in a single day and learned plenty from some very knowledgable, generous people.
Fruit trees in the Food Forest include: apples, citrus, olive, apricot, mulberry, pistachio, hazelnuts and more.
On June 15 we’ll be back in the Food Forest, and we need your help!
Karen Sutherland of Edible Eden Design will show us how to prune fruit trees in this beautiful urban food forest, and there’ll even be a workshop so you can learn how to clean and sharpen your secateurs and pruning shears.
There will also be plenty of unguided kid friendly things to do eg moving compost, building cubbies, weeding & digging.
To join in the fun, just fill in the form below!
This is now completely booked out.
