Warr Park Food Forest Permablitz and Launch
Date(s) - October 19, 2019
Time - 10:30 am - 2:30 pm
This event is totally booked out - but keep an eye out for more blitzes being announced soon!
Location - Warr Park
Come and help us plant the Warr Park Food Forest!
The Warr Park Food Forest is a community project initially kick-started by the Brunswick Neighbourhood House Garden group, who wanted to establish a fully accessible, free public garden for the people in the Brunswick Community to share and enjoy.
Overseen by Brunswick Neighbourhood House, it will provide learning opportunities encouraging local food production, healthy eating, and sustainable living, while bringing the community together around with a sense of shared achievement. The area serves as a demonstration site for what people can do at home, and as a suitable venue for courses and other future educational opportunities connected to the Neighbourhood House.
We’re running a Permablitz to build the rest of the Food Forest. It will be run by Adam Grubb from Very Edible Gardens.
Tasks for the day:
-planting the understory and groundcover plants
-drip irrigation
-propogation
Workshops:
-Concepts of a food forest
-pest management and control
-propagation
Set in the beautiful Warr Park, it will be a fantastic day to be part of. As we will be officially launching the food forest, there will be some speeches and a smoking ceremony at the beginning of the Blitz.
Sounds good, yeah? If you want in on this, fill in the form below!
Soooooooooo… we’re booked. Again. In less than a few hours. Thanks to everyone who signed up, and apologies to those who missed out!
