Permablitz #220 – Ferntree Gully
Date(s) - December 1, 2019
Time - 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
This event is totally booked out - but keep an eye out for more blitzes being announced soon!
A church group in Ferntree Gully want to build a community garden that will provide food free for all, using land donated by the church. They have the building and land to provide toilets, food and shelter, and there is overwhelming interest for a community garden in the area. And we’re going to help them do it!
The design team of Martin, Natalie, Jon and Mjartin have been working hard at putting together a design for the new garden, and we’re really looking forward to seeing it unfold.
The workshops for the day a will be:
- Creating a 3 bay compost bin
- Creating a bath tub worm farm
- Social permaculture
We’ll also be..
- Setting up and preparing the raised garden beds
- Creating a children’s teepee
- Sheet mulching
Things to bring if you can:
- Garden forks
- Metal rakes
- Wheelbarrows!
It’s a child friendly event, but of course normal parenting rules apply – keep an eye on your kidlets!
The last few blitzes have booked out within hours, so be fast!
Wow – over 80 applicants within hours of opening up the blitz form – that’s crazy! We’re totally booked out now, a huge thanks to everyone for the amazing levels of interest!
