Previous blitzer and devoted mum Sonia has a  new home and was keen for some help to create a beautiful, nourishing and educational space for herself and her young son.  And talented Designer Guild members Goshen and Fiona have leaped into the challenge!

So… what are we going to do?

Glad you asked! Check out the carefully planned action-points below:

• Back Garden:
  • Move trampoline
  • Dig swale to capture rainwater runoff
  • Removal of couch grass
  • Create straw bale veg and herb garden
  • Plant fruit trees
  • Install compost/worm chimneys
  • Mulch pathway
  • Create an insect hotel
• Front North East garden: plant out and mulch
  • bee & bird attracting shrubs
  • two plum trees
  • additional vegetables
  • Create a rainwater garden
• Front Centre Garden
  • Plant dwarf apple trees
  • Mulch!
  • Put in a brick border

Some totally awesome workshops will include:

• Creating an insect hotel
• Creating a straw-bale garden bed
• Creating a swale
• Creating a rain garden
• Creating a food forest / planting fruit trees

Things to bring along:

• 1 or 2 Wheelbarrows
• Trunk trolley
• Shovels
• Spades

This is a child-friendly blitz, but normal parental rules apply – keep an eye on ’em…
