Permablitz #213 – Belgrave Heights
Date(s) - October 28, 2018
Time - 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
This event is totally booked out - but keep an eye out for more blitzes being announced soon!
Kate and Tina live in the foothills of the Dandenongs with their 2 year old son Lennox. They have dreams of creating a beautiful edible garden sanctuary where Lennox can learn about food and nature. They need some help transforming their sloped block that backs onto the bushland of birdsland reserve, and we’re going to do our best to make it happen for them!
On the day we will be:
- Creating raised beds for annuals
- Digging swales in new orchard
- Planting fruit trees and mulching orchard
- Installing drip irrigation to raised beds
- Clearing weeds
There will be some awesome workshops happening including:
- In-bed composting
- Swales on sloped orchard
- Drip irrigation
It would great if you could bring any of the following tools
- Wheelbarrows
- Shovels and mattocks
- Garden forks
- Secateurs
The blitz is totally kid-friendly, but be aware the area is hilly so usual parental supervision required.
This event is totally booked out!
