Urban Harvest: Also known as food swaps, these gatherings are a great way for gardeners to swap their excess produce for food they don’t or can’t grow in their own garden. They’re complete with their own list of social and enviro benefits including:
-Redistribution of food that may otherwise go to landfill
-Reduction of greenhouse emissions by avoiding long distance transportation of food
-Creations of local food-gardener networks
-Provision of healthy food to the community
-Sharing of gardening and food preparation skills
