Chooks find a happy home
Permablitz recently put the call out to re-house Val’s much loved chooks – Val was moving, and couldn’t take the girls with her. There was an overwhelming response with over 70 people putting their hands up with promises of a loving home, but alas – there could only be one! Paul has re-housed the chickens in his backyard in Bentleigh – and it looks like his son is pretty excited by the new arrivals!
We are the very lucky family to receive the chooks.
It’s the first time we’ve had chooks, I come from a farming family, my grandparents were farmers, but I was raised an urban guy.
We’ve constructed a chook run 3×10 meters between the garage and the fence and have totally enclosed the area.
The chooks are settling in nicely and have given us lovely golden eggs on both days so far. Yum!
They are such lovely chooks and have such an inquisitive and gentle nature.
They’ve been named “Henna, Henrietta & Bowie”-Paul
Check out the girls’ new home – it looks awesome!!
