Permabee in Altona Meadows
On Sunday 31st May, participants from Hobsons Bay’s My Smart Garden program met at Anne and Lily’s house in Altona Meadows to blitz it – permaculture style! We pruned, sheet mulched to control grass, built raised vegie beds, installed a chook house and run, and built a pond, powered by teamwork, a hearty lunch and home grown bananas!
The integrated permaculture design was created at a previous workshop and will help Anne and Lily to get plenty of herbs, veg, fruit and eggs from their garden with minimal effort. For more workshops check out www.mysmartgarden.org.au
