Holy Blitz
A while ago we we listed all the benefits of permablitzing, and stacked up together it really was a very impressively long list. And yet, there’s one thing we neglected to mention which might be the most important reason of all. That is, if you happen to have any sort of inclination towards getting into heaven, it’s probably not going to do your chances any harm at all. That’s the irrefutable results of our numerical analysis of the Catholic Church’s index of patron saints.>
There are no less than 21 patron saints of gardeners and farmers implying God puts a lot of stock in their activities. Let’s see how that stacks up against some other prominent occupations…
Brewers and winemakers: 20
Bakers: 8
Hat makers: 6
Doctors: 6
Lawyers: 6
Bankers: 4
Tax collectors: 1
Bomb technicians: 1
Corporate executives: 0
Obviously getting some home brew on the go doesn’t hurt either. But the number one way to get your name on the guest list may be to come along to one of the exciting upcoming blitzes…

Speaking religion, why has no one ever worshiped a broad bean god? They are one of the most productive plants in the garden, are packed full of protein, are the foundation of falafel, are great fresh or stir fried or as a dip. They grow through winter. And they capture nitrogen in the soil. In short they are magnificent! Therefore we give you a god of our own creation: Lord Fava, the best and only broad bean god to have ever existed. He is great and powerful. Fear him. And feed with well aged compost.
They are also only legume reputed to be a ‘natural viagra’. Get sexy with some broad bean mush.
