Hermann led a workshop on building Hügelkultur raised garden beds just before lunch time. The lunch itself was glorious with a range of Curries and cake and cookies that were left over from morning tea.
Many hands were needed for the big move of whole trees to the back of the house to make up the pillars of the chook palace in the making.
Many people also joined in on the compost workshop held by Ari who conveniently pulled a tremendous workshop out of his hat just as the finishing touches on the second Hügelbed were done.
Not all jobs got done but Tom is eager to continue on his garden journey maybe also with future Blitzes. “It was wonderful to open our home and garden to a such a positive and energetic bunch. I had some great chats and met some lovely people. And, wow, where I thought I’d have a hugelkultur mound, I now have a hugelkultur mountain range! Think of all that stored carbon.
